Generator Technician
We are searching for a Full Time Generator Technician for doing preventative maintenance and repair of automatic standby generators and their supporting electrical systems.
Responsibilities:
- Perform required preventative routine service on engines, changing filters, plugs, oil
- Perform valve adjustments, battery and charger testing
- Understand basic mechanical/electrical function relationships
- Troubleshoot/diagnose and repair of mechanical and electrical systems
- Work and drive in most types of weather and temperatures
- Communicate with customers and office
- Write job notes and keep track of time for each job
- Maintain vehicle inventory of parts and supplies
- Emergency calls during power outages
Qualifications and Skills:
- Must have own tools
- Must have valid drivers license
- Must be able to work independently and with a team
- Troubleshooting
- Positive attitude
- Attention to detail
- Ability to lift 80lbs
- Degree from Technical/Vocational college a plus but not necessary
- Small engine internal knowledge preferred
- Ability to read electrical schematics preferred
