Generator Technician

We are searching for a Full Time Generator Technician for doing preventative maintenance and repair of automatic standby generators and their supporting electrical systems.

Responsibilities:

  • Perform required preventative routine service on engines, changing filters, plugs, oil
  • Perform valve adjustments, battery and charger testing
  • Understand basic mechanical/electrical function relationships
  • Troubleshoot/diagnose and repair of mechanical and electrical systems
  • Work and drive in most types of weather and temperatures
  • Communicate with customers and office
  • Write job notes and keep track of time for each job
  • Maintain vehicle inventory of parts and supplies
  • Emergency calls during power outages

Qualifications and Skills:

  • Must have own tools
  • Must have valid drivers license
  • Must be able to work independently and with a team
  • Troubleshooting
  • Positive attitude
  • Attention to detail
  • Ability to lift 80lbs
  • Degree from Technical/Vocational college a plus but not necessary
  • Small engine internal knowledge preferred
  • Ability to read electrical schematics preferred
